Working in bone china, porcelain and semi-porcelain Anna Thomson's collection of monochrome vases, bone china lighting, typography and jewellery is inspired by repetition, variation, erosion and natural form, imbued with a sense of discovery.
After graduating with a first class degree in Wood, Metal, Ceramics and Plastics from Brighton University in 1997 Anna co-founded, together with fellow graduate Andrew Tanner, the successful design company Hub. They specialised in ceramic lighting, tiles and tableware, out-sourcing manufacture to UK potteries. Their client list boasted top retailers Liberty, Harrods, DKNY,
Following a career break raising children Anna returned to creating ceramics independently in 2012, just Anna and her kiln. Enjoying again the creativity that is a huge part of her. Being a designer-maker this time round affords her the pleasure in producing variations, bringing creative decisions into the making as well as the designing and the freedom of exploring new techniques.
